Arleen Rosetta Fields Wise, age 92 of La Plata, MD went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 01, 2013 at Washington Hospital Center.

She was born on April 4, 1921 in Pleasant Garden, NC to John Edgar and Carrie Belle Kirkman Fields. She is the widow of Luther Calvin Wise, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Richard Wise and daughter-in-law, Fonda of Lanham, MD; daughter, Linda Downes and the late Melvin Downes of La Plata, MD and daughter Ginny Evans and son-in-law, Paul Evans of Spivey's Corner, NC. She is survived by grandchildren Carol Jones and husband, Kevin of Waynesboro, VA; Chris Wise of Denver, CO; Brian Evans of Spivey's Corner, NC; Drs. Angela Downes and her husband, Samy Youssef of Tampa, FL; David Wise of Pompano Beach, FL and Susan Wise Danko and her husband, Paul of Sykesville, MD. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Caleb and Carter Jones of Waynesboro, VA.

She is also survived by sisters, Inez Fields Lemonds of Greensboro, NC and Doris Fields Inman of Tar Heel, NC.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11 am at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of 4760 Fayetteville Hwy, Godwin, NC with Pastor Kyle Burrows officiating. Family visitation will be at the church from 10-11 am prior to the service. Interment will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 11AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
