Calvin F. Bredell of Waldorf, Maryland passed away on August 6, 2013 at the age of 80.

Calvin graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating he was drafted into the Military and retired from the Army in 1982. He received a Bachelors of Art in Political Science from Fayetteville State University in 1979. After retiring from the Army Calvin began working at the Department of Commerce as Chief of Security. He worked as Chief of Security for twenty years, retiring in 2002. After his second retirement he worked as an Independent Consultant for the U.S.A.I.D.

Calvin is preceded in death by the late William Thomas Bredell and Theresa Ella Young, sisters Beatrice B. Rawls and Theresa Collison, brothers Clarence, William "Bill", William "Junie" and Donald Bredell.

He is survived by his wife Mattie Bredell of 57 years, five children Calvin (Angela), Joyce, Donald (Ester), Kim and Ronnie Bredell, sisters Mary Earl and Shirley Hill, brother Ronald Bredell, four grandchildren Gabriell, Brandy, Ronnie and Jamie, one great grandchild Sriyah and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, Maryland on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6 to 8pm. The wake will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 8:30 to 9:30am with the funeral service beginning at 9:30am at the Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, Maryland. Burial will take place following the service at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
