Rebecca W. Kelly, age 92, passed away peacefully July 11, 2013 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born August 1, 1920 in Marbury, Maryland, the daughter of the late Peter and Sadie Wheeler.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 42 years Clarence S. Kelly.

After graduating from Lackey High School in Marbury, Maryland, Rebecca worked for National Geographic Society in Washington, DC for 35 years. She retired July 1981.

In 2003 she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Lee) Ryals and her husband Murray Ryals, brother Woodville (Woody) Wheeler, eight nieces Linda Bubnack, Brenda Abell, Wendy Kay Cleary, Bonnie Hood, Pam Mattingly, Marsha Brantley, Shelley Horne, Patricia Sos and nephew Jim Cleary; also a number of great nieces and nephews.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Memorial service will be held by Pastor Tim Bean on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, Maryland at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
