Taylor, Ruth Mae Townsend (Age 94) of Waldorf, Maryland.

Funeral services for Ruth Taylor will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 2002 Greene Street, Beaufort, South Carolina.

Burial will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, Maryland and Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals, Beaufort, South Carolina.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Ruth was born in Pavo, Georgia on May 8, 1919, to the late Queen and John Townsend. On Sunday, June 30, 2013, Ruth, age 94, was called home to be with the Lord.

She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She lived and worked in Trenton for many years before moving to Florida, where she was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Richard O'Bannion of DeRidder, Louisiana; one son and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Taylor of Waldorf, Maryland; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Taylor of Trenton, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Ethel Townsend of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends.

Her husband, Bennie Taylor; two sons, Bennie, Jr. and Michael Taylor; five brothers and six sisters; and one great-grandchild, Terrell Smith preceded Ruth in death.
