James R. Long, 61 of Leonardtown, MD died June 30, 2013 at his residence.

He was born June 26, 1952 in Leonardtown, MD to the late Francis Johnson Long and Pearl Elizabeth Hewitt Long of Temple Hills, MD.

James graduated from Chopticon High School. He was employed by Old South Country Club taking care of all grounds maintenance. His hobbies included collecting antiques, welding, auto body work, and tractors.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his son, James Robert Long, Jr., of Mechanicsville, MD; his grandchildren, James Robert Long III and Trinity Jean Jones; and his brother, Charles E. Long (Margaret) of Temple Hills, MD. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Ellen Bates.

All services will be private.
