Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson, 76 of Compton, MD died June 15, 2013 at his residence.

Born January 10, 1937 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Thomas Seaving Jackson and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Jackson.

Judge Jackson was appointed to the U.S. District Court in 1982. He is survived by his wife Patricia King Jackson; his children, Leila Jackson Kochis of Austin, TX and Sarah Jackson-Han of Chevy Chase, MD; 3 grandchildren; and his brother, Jeffrey Jackson of Bethany Beach, MD.

A funeral service for Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson will be held on July 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Private interment will follow in St. Mary's County, MD.
