Dolores Frances (Roche) McCloskey of Waldorf, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her daughter's home in Centennial, CO. She was born January 29, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Roche and the late Mary Frances Fisher Roche. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Francis McCloskey, infant son, daughter Tara Merritt of Mechanicsville, MD, four sisters, and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter, SueAnne Evans of Centennial, CO; sons, William McCloskey and wife Beverly of Edgewater, MD, Joseph McCloskey and wife Cindy of Richmond, VA, Raymond McCloskey and wife Tracey of Hughesville, MD, Dennis McCloskey and wife Denise of Waldorf, MD, and Matthew McCloskey of Lusby, MD; son-in-law Robert Merritt of Chesapeake Beach, MD; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dolores was a registered nurse. She began her vocation in Kings County, NY before moving to Washington, DC when she married William on April 14, 1951. They later moved to Palmer Park, MD and then to Greenbelt, MD where they raised their family for 25 years. In 1984, they moved to Waldorf, MD where they remained. In 1968, she returned to nursing, working for various hospitals, nursing homes, and health departments. She retired in 1985 from the state of MD as a nursing home health inspector with the Prince George's Health Department.

Visitation on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:30AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment at MD Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
