Mary Madeline Burgess died on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Charles County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, MD. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. Burgess was a homemaker and a life-long supporter of the Humane Society. She loved her cats and helping raise her grandchildren. In earlier years, she was a volunteer and chaperone for field trips with Prince George's County schools.

Daughter of the late Robert Albin and Alice Boswell. She is survived by her husband, William Allen Burgess; three sons, Michael Burgess and his wife Donna, Craig Burgess and his significant other Tricia Montgomery, and Chris Burgess and his wife Susan; one daughter, Debbie Carroll and her husband Todd; one cousin, Arden Batch; six grandchildren, Scott, Lance, Toni, Julie, Mandy, and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Anthony, and Isabelle.

Visitation on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 3PM at MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
