Charles Anthony "Chuck" Cooksey of La Plata, MD died on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He was 53 years old.

Son of the late John Everett Cooksey and the late Helen Cecelia Wheeler Cooksey.

Survived by his son, Charles Anthony "Tony" Cooksey, Jr.; his grandson, Anthony Cooksey and another grandchild due in October; seven brothers, Jack, David, Pat, Mike, Neil, Richard, and Greg; four sisters, Linda Apodaca, Connie Gray, Joanne Good, and June Wathen. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Chuck was a Heavy Equipment Operator for 35 plus years with PEPCO and Gregory & Lewis Contractors.

He loved collecting antiques and novelties, buying/selling on EBAY, cooking, and visiting with friends. He was known as someone who would give you the shirt off his back - a "Jack of All Trades" who would stop and help anyone in need. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

Visitation on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2PM until time of Funeral Service at 6PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
