Mary Agnes Pumphrey, 84, of California, MD died December 11, 2007 at her residence.

Born August 14, 1923 in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Francis Aherne and Mary A. Sullivan Aherne.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Chaney of Clarksville, TN, Pat Pumphrey of Knotts Island, NC, Ann Tennison ,California, MD, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a sibling, Fran Aherne of Canton, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stanley Pumphrey.

The family and friends are invited to a Life Celebration for Mrs. Pumphrey on Friday, December 14, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Lexington Park, MD. The Reverend Eamon Dignan will be the celebrant.

Interment will be Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
