Dorothy Marie Dawson of White Plains, Maryland, died at her home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was 85 years old. Born on September 23, 1927 in Danville, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Grace L. and the late Arlie O. Cox.

She worked as a cashier at Shoppers Food Warehouse. She enjoyed doing crafts, making and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert O. Dawson.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert D. Ryan and Gerald A. Ryan; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several good close friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 10AM until the time of service at 12 Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 with the Reverend Tim Bean officiating.

Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
