Samuel R. Lewis, Jr. 89 of La Plata, MD. died on March 7, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1923 on the Eastern Shore of MD. to the late Samuel R. Sr. and Theresa Lewis. He is also predeceased by his loving wife Mary V. Lewis, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.

Samuel was a steel worker for Charles County Steel for 18 years.

He is survived by his sons Charles Lewis, Samuel Lewis, IV, John T. Lewis, Kelvin Lewis, and Joseph Ford, daughters Pat Swann, Agnes Chapman, Linda Wade and Rita Lyles. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday March 16, 2013 from 9:30am to 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church La Plata, MD. Interment to follow at the St. Joseph's Church Cemetery Pomfret, MD.
