Doris Marie Downs, 78, of Mechanicsville, MD died at Hospice House of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD on Thursday, February 14, 2013. She was born in Mechanicsville, MD on February 28, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Louis Tippett and the late Etoyle Tippett.

Doris enjoyed The Price is Right, Golden Girls, Bonanza, Stratch Offs, Wrestling and her Best Friend - Brownie Doos (stuffed dog).

Doris was predeceased by her husband, James Wallace Downs, parents, the late Louis Tippett and the late Etoyle Tippett; her son, Bobby Downs of Mechanicsville, MD, brothers, Louis Tippett, Herman (Funky) Tippett, sisters, Lola Morgan, Hazel Copsey, and grandchild, Samantha Malcom.

Doris survived by her sons, William (Billy) Downs (Betty), of Mechanicsville, MD, James (Jimmy) Downs (Linda) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Jerry Downs (Patty) of Mechanicsville, MD, David Downs (Wendy) of Lexington Park, MD, daughter, Gladys (Sissy) Malcom (Homer) of Mechanicsville, MD, sisters, Eleanor Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, Bertha Russell (Albert) of Brooms Island, MD, Edna Morgan (Joe) of Beltsville, MD, Cathy Morgan (Lewis) of Mechanicsville, MD, Emma Marshall (late Wayne) of VA, Mary (Ninkey) Heier (Horst) of Mechanicsville, MD, grandchildren, Billy Downs Jr, Timmy Downs, Crystal Price, Adam Downs, Jerry Downs Jr, Katie Downs, Katelin Downs, Jessica Franck, Christina Malcom, Shannon Malcom, ten (10) great-grandchildren, best friend, Christine Morgan, and friend/confidant, Michelle Ryman.

Pallbearers will be: Billy Downs, Jimmy Downs, Jerry Downs, David Downs, Lewis Morgan, Adam Downs, Gregory Franck, and Johnny Gardiner.

Family and friends will be received for Doris's Visitation on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A with Pastor James Ryan officiating. Interment, immediately following at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
