James Otis Pennington, 77, of White Plains, MD died on January 26, 2013 in La Plata, Md. He was born on March 9, 1935 in Graham, N.C. to the late John O. Pennington and Maggie Pennington.

He was in the Navy during the Korean and cold wars. He was a High Voltage Electrician at the Navel Ordinance Station in Indian Head, Md. Before that he retired from the Boiler Makers Union. He enjoyed Bowling and was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 82.

He is also predeceased by his son James Lester Pennington, Brothers Charles Thomas Pennington and Robert Pennington and his sister Nellie Kizer.

He is survived by his wife Audrey Gail Pennington, daughter Terry Radcliff and her husband Mark, Grandson Garrett Lee Radcliff, Brothers Donald Gene Pennington, Walter Marshall Pennington and his wife Shirley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday January 31st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with an American Legion service at 6:30pm followed by a Funeral Service at 7pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646.

Interment with Military honors will be at a later date.
