James "Turk" Franklin Russell, Jr. 57, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away in Washington, DC on January 21, 2013. Born July 5, 1955 in Washington, DC, he was the son of James Franklin Russell, Sr. and the late Margaret Lucille Russell.

Turk was a self-employed tow truck driver for JR's Recovery Service until 1997. He was an amazing family man who got a kick out of playing pranks. He enjoyed collecting coins, watching boxing, and other sports such as baseball, football, and Nascar. His favorite teams being The Baltimore Orioles, The Washington Redskins and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Turk also took pleasure in watching his youngest son race motor cross and spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his diet cokes and daily runs to 7-Eleven.

Turk is survived by his loving wife, Nancy F. Russell; his sons: James M. Russell (Lolita Guzman) and Charles V. Russell of Mechanicsville, MD; his daughters: Melissa M. Russell of Waldorf, MD, Melinda A. Allen (Marcus Allen) of Waldorf, MD, Ashlee N. Russell (George Linkins) of Accokeek, MD; his father: James F. Russell, Sr., Charlotte Hall, MD; his brothers: Donald Russell of Waldorf, MD and Ronald Russell of Hyattsville, MD; his sisters: Catherine Edwards (Mike Edwards) of Newburg, MD and Sandra Grello (Nick Grello) of Frederick, MD; his grandchildren: Ricardo, Devontae, Jakobe, and Aliyah Russell, Mason and Marcus Allen, George Linkins, Jr., Nick Harris, and many other friends and relatives.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 30th from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 with prayers at 7pm. Graveside committal will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11am, at Wesleyan Memorial Gardens at New Life Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home at 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
