Michael A. Bello, Jr., Lt. Metropolitan Police Dept., Ret. of Dunkirk, Maryland passed away on December 31, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He is the beloved husband of Freda Bello and loving father of Kirk Munitz his wife Leslie, Michael A. Bello, III his wife Tinaand Tina Bello-Cheri and her husband Tony. Grandfather of Sophia and Angelina Bello. He is also survived by other family and friends.

Formerly of Hyattsville, Maryland Mr. Bello moved to Dunkirk about 8 years ago. He is a member of Jesus The Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a former member of the Hyattsville Knight of Columbus.

He retired from The Metropolitan Police Department in 1974 and received several policeman of the month awards and a policeman of the year award. He also appeared in the documentary film "Nine Lives of Marion Berry". While working with the Metropolitan Police he served on the security details of all presidents from John F. Kennedy to Richard M. Nixon.

His hobbies included fishing, boating and in his younger days bowling. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and was excited to see them make it into the play offs.
