Earl William Washburn of White Plains, MD died on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his residence with Hospice. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Washburn was a retired computer consultant for 48 years with Northrup Grumman and a veteran of the United States Air Force Ret. E-6, having served from 1952-1972. He was a member of the Accokeek Baptist Church where he was very active with the choir and a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years. He enjoyed bowling and was a very liked man. Always there for his grandkids and wife. Son of the late William H. Washburn and the late Susie Bell Smith Washburn. Predeceased by his parents; one late grandchild, Joshua Gregor. Survived by his wife, Lois M. Washburn; one son, Earl Washburn, Jr. of Waldorf, MD; one daughter, Tammy (Allen) Gregor of NC; one brother, Howard (Gloria) Washburn of SC; one sister, Ella Boyce of NY; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Allen Gregor and Amanda Stephens; and four great- grandchildren. Visitation: Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 3PM until time of Funeral Service at 5PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy: Rev. Mike Anderson. Pallbearers: Jim Haralson, Carl Taylor, Haren Mistry, Goulob Mistry, Jeremy Gregor, and Allen Gregor. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Air Force Honor Guard. Interment: MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD on January 4, 2013 at 11AM.
