Charles Eugene Parker, 74, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home on December 19, 2012. Born in Cheswick, PA on January 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Warren L. and Esther C. Parker.

Charles served in the US Coast Guard from 8 June 1955 thru - 5 June 1959. He took part in The International Geophysical Year serving on two Coast Guard Ice Breakers at both poles. He was the Chief of the US Steel computer operations and retired after twenty five years. He worked as a consultant prior to the year 2000 reprogramming computers in several large banks and insurance companies to avoid computer crashes due to the two digits limits on early computer programs.

Charles was predeceased by his mother and father, Warren L. and Esther C. Parker of Cheswick, PA and his sister Sylvia Schubert of Gibsonia, PA.

Charles is survived by his brother Warren L. Parker and his wife Lois of La Plata, MD. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania for his many relatives in that area.
