Audrey Cecelia Langley Robertson, 85, of La Plata passed away at Genesis of Waldorf Nursing Home on December 13, 2012 surround by family. Audrey was born in La Plata, MD on July 28, 1927 to the late Joseph Eugene Langley and Catherine Gwynnette Langley. She was educated in the Charles County public schools. She had seven children.
Audrey was the former owner of Robertson Crab House. She also was a past president and lifetime member of the Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association. An avid bowler, Audrey enjoyed traveling with friends and family and her beloved second home in Ocean City, MD. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Jean Bender of West Virginia and Mary Louise Bess of South Carolina; her children George W. (Billy) Robertson Jr. (Candy) of Bel Alton, MD, Connie Hendrix (Bill) of Colonial Beach, VA, Becky Robertson of La Plata, MD, Peggy Robertson of Port Tobacco, MD, Joe Robertson (Pam) of Florida and Deloris Kenny of Hagerstown, MD and daughter-in-law Karen Robertson of Port Tobacco. In addition, she is survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and her longtime companion Jim Ward. She also leaves countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. She is preceded in death by her son John (Freddie) Robertson and her sister Estelle (Tommy) Langley and her parents Joseph Eugene Langley and Catherine Gwynnette Langley. Audrey touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor and laugh all the way to the end. She will especially be missed by her friends and the staff at Genesis of Waldorf Nursing Home. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Audrey's life on Sunday December 16th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with prayer's at 7pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home 211 St. Mary's Ave. LaPlata, Md. 20646 where funeral services will be held on Monday December 17th at 10am. Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens Waldorf, Md. Pallbearers are Audrey's Grandsons: George W. Robertson III, William Raymond Goldsmith, Kevin Eugene Goldsmith, John Frederick Robertson Jr., Joseph Francis DeSales Stine III and honorary pallbearers are Cory Lee Frye Sr., Jeffrey Calvin Slagle and Luther Andrew Della IV.
