Franklin Dean Clifton, Sr. of White Plains, MD died on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Clifton was a carpentry supervisor with the D.C. Government for 33 years and a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Methodist faith. He was an avid fisherman and crabber, he enjoyed playing cards and good times with family and friends. He was loved by many. Son of the late William H. Clifton, Sr. and the late Adaline Jeanette Dean Clifton. Predeceased by his parents; his late wife, Elizabeth Ann Clifton; one late brother, Murry Clifton. Survived by his beloved companion, Betty Crumrine; one son, Franklin Dean (Natalie) Clifton, Jr. of Nanjemoy, MD; one daughter, Missy "Vikki" (John) Thayer of Mechanicsville, MD; two brothers, William H. (Mary) Clifton, Jr. of Waldorf, MD and Keith (Joann) Clifton of Upper Marlboro, MD; four grandchildren, Franklin III, Anna, Christina, and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Aniya and Noah. Visitation: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 9:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy: Rev. Edward Chance. Interment: 1PM at MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Air Force Honor Guard.
