Walter Taylor Jr., age 76 passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Genesis Center in La Plata, MD. He was born July 7, 1936 to the late Walter Taylor, Sr. and Addie Rogers Taylor Madre in Northampton County, VA.

Junior, as known to his Brother and Sisters, received his education in the public school system in Accomack County VA. He was employed as a Tractor Trailer Driver for many years until he retired. He married Josie Mae Addison Taylor Major and was blessed with 6 children.

Walter came to live with his daughter Faith until he became too ill for her to care for him. She found a nursing facility that could. Walter lived at the nursing home until the Lord called him home. Walter was a man that wouldn't complain. Everyone at the facility loved him. They would say, "Your Dad is so polite and pleasant." His favorite saying when asked, how you doing, would be replied with, "Good Thank the Lord." Walter gave his life to Christ on July 16, 2007 at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church under the guidance of Pastor Mabel Smith. He sang in the Men's Choir. He loved coming to church and singing for the Lord. He was quiet and very respectful. Walter loved his children and family.

Walter is survived by 8 daughters, Alice and Faith Taylor; Deborah (Chris Wilson); Mazie Williams; Mona (Thorrind Woolford); Deatrice (Garrett Copper); Linda and Charlotte Taylor; two step-Sons, Grayson and Efrain Taylor; one brother, Wayne Taylor and five sisters, Barbara (Carlton Tindely); Marie Garris; Norma (Samuel Drummond); Asia (William Nock) and Brenda (Rev. Willie White, Sr.); one brother In-Law, Donald Sturgis; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three Uncles, William Jr.; John west and Cleveland Rogers; four aunts, Mary Drummond, Patricia Orgias; Maepellam Beckett and Gloria Jean Rogers; two step-brothers, Garland Kellam (Mary Louise) and Horace Lee Madre; Three adopted daughters, Jackie Jones, Denise Swann and Virgie McGee that helped care for him and a very close friend, Clearance Henson along with a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends and his church family.

Preceding him in death is one son, Walter Taylor III; Sisters, Judy and Gladys; one Grand-daughter, RayAnn Smith; In-Laws, Ruby Taylor, William Garris and Charles Bagwell.
