William Anthony Freeman also known as Billy or Bill departed this life on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He was born, November 21, 1929 in Washington D.C. to the late Madge Freeman Wilson, and Lloyd Jackson.

Billy attended St. Emma's Military Academy. Upon graduation he served in the Army for three years and received two bronze stars and a United Nations service medal. He then went on to work as a Mattress Maker. He was hired by the Federal Government and soon became a General Foreman, supervising over 300 employees for 27 years. Billy retired in 1986. He then was hired by Van Go and was a bus driver for 15 years. Billy was also active in the NAACP as a legal redresser and soon became the second Vice President of the NAACP. Later on he became president of St. Joseph's Parish Council for 3 years. After his retirement from Van Go he was hired by Gwynn Park School as a bus driver and was loved by all the kids. Later he retired for good.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel Freeman and Mary McClain Marshall Freeman.

Billy is survived by his wife, Agnes C. Freeman, seven children, Michael who took care of him until his passing. Tony, Denise, Angela, Nathaniel (Angela), David, Kevin (Patricia), twenty five grannies, twenty six great grannies, one uncle, Herbert Howard and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, 10:00 am Viewing, Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, Maryland. Interment, Maryland Veteran Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
