Donald Franklin "Bunky" Greenfield, Sr., 79, of Benedict, MD, passed away September 15, 2012 at his home, with his loving family by his side. Born November 12, 1932 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late James Paul and Mabel Louise (Spicer) Greenfield.

He graduated from Gwynn Park High School. Bunky was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and then became a policeman with Prince George's County Police. He lived in the Brandywine area until he retired from the police force as Lieutenant. Bunky's hobbies were crabbing, fishing, boating, and hunting. He loved to ride his motorcycle with the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.

Aside from his parents, Bunky was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Dobson; and his brothers, William Greenfield and Earl Greenfield.

He is survived by his son, Donald Franklin Greenfield, Jr. of Oxon Hill, MD; his daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Elizabeth Olsen (Eric) of Brandywine, MD; his sisters, Mabel Lois Becker of Silver Spring, MD, Dorothy Lorain Burns of Southern Pines, NC, and Elsie Mae Aker of Brandywine, MD; and his 5 grandchildren, Daniel Olsen, Brent Olsen, Justin Olsen, James Greenfield, and Stacie Greenfield.

Family and friends will be received for Bunky's Memorial Service on Saturday, September 22, 2012, 11:00AM at Life Stream Church of the Nazarene, 5105 Leonardtown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Pastor Steve Merki will officiate.

All arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
