JOHN HENRY MOLING III, M.D., FAAP
Age 84, on Friday September 14, 2012, died peacefully at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Born Nov. 3, 1927 in Winchester, VA to John H. Moling, Jr. and Rebecca Howland Baird. A 33-year resident of Bowie, MD and one of the first Pediatric /Family practitioners in Belair-at-Bowie, caring for generations of area families. Served in U.S. Army 1946-1948 (Korea), attended Hampden-Sydney College, University of Richmond, University of Virginia Medical School. Wed Dorothy "Dottie" Lee Parkinson of Hampton, VA, RN and fellow UVA alum, in June 1954. Residency in Cleveland, OH; Pediatric practice in Winchester, VA and Dubuque, IA; medical research at FDA in Washington, DC; then solo Pediatric practice in Bowie from 1964. Retired 1996 and signed practice over to partner/colleague and friend Azar Dashti. Resided in Bolivia, NC, Annapolis, MD, San Jose, CA, and Charlotte Hall. Enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking, travel, boating with Chesapeake Yacht Club. Remembered for his diagnostic prowess, principled, hard-working ethic, "gift of gab" and charming smile. Survived by son Jim (Hiroko), of Laurel, MD; daughters JoAnne "Jo" (George Drapeau) of Bowie, MD, and Susan (Ali Ekici) of Los Gatos, CA; grandchildren Bekka Baltzell, Ryan and Jenny Moling, Shenel, Ayla and Selin Ekici; sister Jean Moling; Theresa Gross, Madeline Gross and family; beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Dottie in 2008, sister Sara Moling MacKinnon in 2006, sister-in-law Ann Parkinson Stallings-Wolfe in 2012. Family memorial planned for summer 2013.
