Warren Leigh Norment, 85, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Waldorf, MD died July 5, 2012 at his son's residence in Solomons, MD. Born September 2, 1926 in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of Alva Summerfield Norment and Alice McGhee Norment.

Warren was a proud Navy veteran who served as a Gunners Mate in World War II. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres aboard the USS Kephart, a destroyer escort. After his service in the Navy, he worked as a supervisor for the C & P Telephone Company. He enjoyed the Redskins and especially being with his family.

Warren was predeceased by his daughter, Kathryn Lee Henderson and siblings
Bill Norment, Beverly L. Norment and Barbara Ranson, and grandson, Kyle Henderson.

He is survived by his son, Linwood Norment; daughter, Jennifer Norment Cooper (John); son-in-law, Bill Henderson; grandchildren, Christopher L. Norment, Andrea B. Macdonald, Whitney B. Townshend, Erica Henderson, Elaina, Nina and Krista Meader; great grandchildren, Trevor and Briana Macdonald, Casey and Chance Townshend, Braylon and Brielle Swor, Violet Henderson and Hunter Henderson.

The family will receive friends for Warren's Life Celebration on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195
Three Notch Rd,., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 1:00p.m.
