Richard "Moe" Morris, 82, of Hollywood and a resident of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, formerly of Cape Canaveral, Florida, died June 29, 2012, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata. Born October 7, 1929, in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Marcel and Vladislava Mierzejewski.

He served in the U.S. Army from September 1951 to September 1953 as a Marine Engineer and was assigned to Company "A" 110th T H/C & MM Battalion in Fort Eustis, VA. He also worked for Military Sealift Command for 36 years as an engineman on many different ships, including the USNS Comfort and the USNS Redstone. He retired from MSC in 1985.

He loved hand feeding the squirrels on his patio when he lived in Florida, watching game shows, and doing work search puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his loving companion of 15 years, Kay Ogden, his parents, and his brother, Robert Morris.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Kristi Baker (Nathan) of Hollywood, MD; step-son Jack Ogden (Glenda) of Cocoa, FL; step-granddaughters Regina Baker, Micheala Phillips, and Jessica Phillips; and step-grandsons Caleb Baker and Jaxson Ogden; and good friend, Algie Ogden of Cocoa, FL.

Services will be private.
