John Dixon Greenhorn Jr. of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his residence. He was 62 years old. Born on February 28, 1950 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Patricia Hendicks Greenhorn and the late John Dixon Greenhorn Sr.

Mr. Greenhorn was a Mason/Heavy Equipment Operator for Daniels Construction in Virginia and a member of Epiphany Episcopal Church in Forestville, MD. He was a Boy Scout and later an Eagle Scout achieving the Silver Beaver Award and later a troop leader for over 30 years. He loved woodworking and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, the Washington Nationals baseball and of NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife of 11 years, Esther L. Greenhorn; two brothers Thomas (Wanda) Greenhorn of Pasadena, MD and Herbert (Wanda) Greenhorn of Brandywine, MD; one sister Debra (Bill) Dusterwald of Laurel, MD; one aunt Helen McAllister of Hot Springs, VA; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 5-8PM at the Raymond Funeral Chapel 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11AM at Epiphany Episcopal Church 3125 Ritchie Road Forestville, MD 20747 with the Reverend Lawrence Harris officiating. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, MD with Military Honors.
