Agnes Teresa Gardiner, 81, of Hughesville, MD, passed away at Civista Hospital in La Plata, MD on June 11, 2012. Born in Oakley, MD on March 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph Ashby Quade and Nellie Eleanor (Farrell) Quade.

On August 26, 1950, Teresa married Charles "Dimpy" Gardiner after dating for two years. They were married nearly 62 years and together had three sons and one daughter.

Teresa cherished family gatherings, giving gifts at the holidays, and preparing meals for her family. Teresa loved playing bingo, a good game of cards with family and friends, playing the lottery and slots. Teresa was known for her gentle touch, her wonderful smile and being very soft spoken. She was very much a lady.

Aside from her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Susan (Nora) Quade, Mary Helen Morgan, Margaret Louise Morgan and brother, James Henry Quade.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Charles Gardiner; her children, Allen Gardiner and his wife Janet, Wayne Gardiner and his wife Delores, Donna Roberts and her husband Jeff, and Timmy Gardiner Sr. and his wife Tami. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Brian Gardiner, Chris Gardiner, Kevin Gardiner, Jeffrey Gardiner, Michelle Mudd, Ashleigh Sandy, Bill Robb, Mark Robb, T.J. Gardiner, and Katlin Gardiner; and her 9 great-grandchildren, Kyle Gardiner, Jacob Gardiner, Anthony DeVincent, Sydney DeVincent, Mason Mudd, Brandon Mudd, McKenzie Gardiner, Bradley Robb, and Miranda Robb; sister, Alberta Farrell; brothers, Lawrence Quade, Aloysius Quade, Bobby Quade, and Sonny Quade.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM, with prayers beginning at 7PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, MD 20612. Rev. Kevin M. Cusick will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Bryantown Church Cemetery, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gardiner, Chris Gardiner, Kevin Gardiner, Jeffrey Gardiner, Bill Robb, Mark Robb, and T.J. Gardiner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Michelle Mudd, Ashleigh Sandy, and Katlin Gardiner.
