John Edward Cargill, Sr. was a machinist with Seven Star Aggregate, formerly Buffalo Sand and Gravel. He served in the United States Army, he loved country music, fishing and watching wrestling on TV. He loved to go to Wal-Mart and see his friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is the son of the late John Edward Anderson and the late Mary Helen Cargill, and is also predeceased one late niece, Shawnae "Nae" Thomas. Survived by his wife, Joan Marshall Cargill, two daughters, one son, and one daughter-in-law; grandchildren, Linda, Amanda, Jessica, George and little John Cargill; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Alvey of Bel Alton, MD, Linda Thomas of White Plains, MD, and Jeannie Beall of Indian Head, MD; nieces, Shaquita Thomas and Ashley Dent. Visitation will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646). Rev. Mark Roberson will be Clergy. Pallbearers will be Steve Pilkerton, Ray Mullen, George Cargill, Chris Rickett, Jim Taylor, and Ricky Hynson.
