Born February 5, 1943 in Fort Benning, Georgia, Patricia was the daughter of the late Colonel Truman Dennis Eckols (ret US Army) and the late Cornelia Betsill Eckols.

Having been a daughter of an Army Colonel, she grew up traveling the world with her parents spending time in Belgium and Hawaii gaining great appreciation for service to country. She continued to travel the country as an Air Force wife with her husband and children instilling in them the same gratitude for service to country. She raised three lovely daughters putting all her energies into their lives. Her life was spent touching the lives of those around her with love and grace. She enjoyed crafting and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lt. Colonel George Venable Boyd III (ret. US Air Force) of Waldorf, Maryland; daughters Michelle Boyd Goodsite (Daniel) of Acworth, Georgia, Tricia Kinnier Ledford (Keith) of Blue Ridge, Georgia and Amy Boyd Willard (Eric) of Pinnacle, North Carolina; and grandchildren Hannah Grace Goodsite, Tommy Keith Ledford III, Walker Daniel Goodsite, Clara Jane Willard, Addie Elizabeth Willard and Tatum Kinnier Ledford.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to the time of the service at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata, Maryland. Additional services will be held in Columbia, South Carolina at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to the time of the service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia, South Carolina.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or to the Heart and Lung Association.
