George William Washington, 81, departed this life on June 16, 2007 and entered a life of eternal peace.

George was born on July 1, 1925 in Charles County Maryland to the late Arthur and Mary Washington.

He was educated in the Charles County Schools and employed with the Federal Government until his retirement in 1985. On June 20, 1962, George was united in marriage to Valerie Dorsey. During this union they shared many wonderful memories.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Dorsey; and two brothers, Aaron and Joseph Washington.

George leaves to cherish his memories, his wife; Valerie; four sons, George Jr, Charles and Amos Washington and Samuel Turner; two daughters, Yvonne Tibbs and Raynell Washington; 18 grandchildren and and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

His Viewing and Funeral will be held on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 11220 Holly Springs Road, Grayton, Maryland. The Viewing will begin at 10:00 am, Services will follow at 11:00 am. His Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Thornton Funeral Home, Pomonkey, Maryland.
