Alfred Francis Daniele of La Plata, Maryland, died on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD. He was 80 years old. Born on February 6, 1932 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Agnes Fiorelli and Umberto Daniele.

Fred was drafted into the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Army, he entered the U. S. Air Force for a twenty year career. While in the Air Force, Fred and his family were stationed in England, Portugal, Spain, Spokane, WA, Omaha, NE, Hampton Roads, VA and Washington, DC. During his service in the Air Force, Fred was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was one of the first to receive that new rank.

After his retirement, he continued to work at Andrews Air Force Base as a supervisory supply systems analyst. He was also a licensed real estate agent, having worked with agencies like L. K. Farrall, Ralph Willett and Oxford Realty.

He loved movies, theater, politics and business issues and current events. He was of the Catholic faith and attended church regularly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Yolanda Daniele; his children Michael F. Daniele of La Plata, MD, Lawrence M. Daniele and his wife Caryn of Waldorf, MD, Ann H. Daniele of La Plata, MD, and Francesca M. Daniele of La Plata, MD; his sister Margaret Altizer and her husband Rodney of Lusby, MD; his brother Leonard Daniele of Temple Hills, MD; his grandchildren Dylan and Alexandra Dement; and his cousin Gary Fiorelli of Los Angeles, California.

Visitation on Thursday, April 19 from 5PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Mass 10AM Friday, April 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD. Pallbearers are Frank McKnew, Guy "Patch" Hendricks, Gary Bell, Frank Davis, Michael Stewart, and Gary Fiorelli. Interment church cemetery.
