Gina Fay Best was born, on June 4, 1961 in Washington, D.C. to the late George and the late Mary Best of Accokeek, MD. She was the middle child of three children. At an early age, Gina joined and was baptized at the Georgetown Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.
Gina was educated in the Prince Georges County School System, and later graduated from Gwynn Park High School, Brandywine, MD in 1979. Gina participated in many activities throughout High School, and was known for her versatile personality. Gina later attended Salisbury State College. After attending college, she was employed in the Administrative Field for many years. In 1986, Gina gave birth to her only child, Jason Allen Best, who was her inspiration. Jason was Gina's pride and joy and she devoted all of her time and energy in pursuit of a better life for the both of them. Gina attended all of Jason's athletic events and was elected Team Mom of the Year. Later, Gina joined The First Baptist Church of North Brentwood. She was a member of the Dance Ministry, until she became ill. Gina loved to shop and collected silver jewelry. She surrounded herself with positive people and always enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. Gina loved to dance and she loved her family. She was an advocate for breast cancer giving her advice and expert knowledge to new cancer patients. She was an inspiration to many people by exemplifying her strong faith in God, which helped her to live with cancer, for many years. Gina was a great mother and friend to many, and her generous spirit of giving was an example of the love she shared to all who knew her. On June 5, 2007, at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland, Gina departed this life and entered into eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memories; her beloved son, Jason Allen Best, and his father, Kenney Chiles, her adopted family; John and Shirley Milton, Beverly Price, and Donna Gross. She was known as Aunt Gina to Sharifa (Nilous) Hodge and family, Johntice Milton and Jabry, Latrone Anderson and family, Zakiya Johnson, Willie and Jazamek Price, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her Viewing will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007 at First Baptist Church of North Brentwood, 4000 Wallace Road, North Brentwood, Maryland 20722 from 9:30am until Home Going Service, 10:30am.
