Betty Joan Shaver of Waldorf, MD died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Waldorf Genesis Center in Waldorf, MD. She was 73 years old.

Mrs. Shaver was an Antique Dealer for 20 years with Memory Lane Antiques in Hughesville and Waldorf, MD. She loved gardening and was very good at it. She had a green thumb. She was an antique and collectibles shop keeper for 20 years in Southern Maryland. She loved shopping, dining out, enjoyed popular music and dancing, looking after her granddaughters, enjoyed trips to the beach at Ocean City, MD, loved her four pet dogs. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Morning Side Majorettes and Drum Corps, and served as their treasurer.

Daughter of the late Orville Faye King and the late Sadie King.

Predeceased by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Thomas Wayne Shaver.

Survived by one son, Donald W. Shaver of Arlington, VA; one daughter, Pamela J. (Joseph) Perillo of White Plains, MD; two brothers, Edward King of Thorn Hill, TN and Thomas King of Gaithersburg, MD; and two grandchildren, Megan and Sarah Perillo.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 10AM until Funeral Services at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD. Clergy: Rev. Mark Roberson. Interment: PRIVATE.
