William DeSales Langley of Hughesville, MD died on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Southern MD Hospital Center in Clinton, MD. He was 68 years old.

William "Bill" Langley was a life-long resident of Charles County, MD. He was born in La Plata, MD on July 12, 1943. He lived in Bryantown for more than 58 years and in Hughesville since 2002.

He had many hobbies and interests. As a child he excelled in baseball and soccer. As a young man he enjoyed drag racing at Aquasco Speedway and Budds Creek Dragoway. He won many trophies racing his 1940 Chevrolet Coupe, including the 9th Annual Maryland State Championship. Later in life he became an avid collector car enthusiast. He won numerous awards with his 1940 Chevrolet 2-Door Sedan including Antique Automobile Club of America national junior and senior awards. His passion for cars was something he shared with his son Will. Together they attended many car shows, swap meets, and motorsports events. One of Bill's hobbies, woodworking, actually became his profession as a Master Cabinet Maker for the U. S. Senate (U.S. Govt.) for 27 years, now retired. Son of the late John William Langley and the late Margaret Edelen Langley.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Morrow Langley; two sons, William David Langley of Hughesville, MD and Michael John Langley of Fairfax, VA; one brother, John W. Langley, Jr. of Bryantown, MD; one sister, Mary Coates of La Plata, MD; one nephew, Robert Coates; and one niece, Sharon Zdobysz. Also survived by many cousins.

Visitation: Monday, February 13, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, MD. Clergy: Fr. Rory Conley. Interment: Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Patrick Langley, Robert Bowen, Paul Canter, Wayne Cross, Robert Coates, and Robert Langley.
