James Kenneth "Jim" Barnhart of La Plata, MD died on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He was 63 years old.

Mr. Barnhart was a Computer Programmer for 42 years, having worked for PSI PAX at Patuxent River and Indian Head NOS. He had also worked for Shoppers' Food Warehouse and GEICO Insurance Co. He enjoyed gardening, reading, good meals, going to the beach, touring gardens, and his pets. He was a "Honey Do" for the master gardeners of Charles County.

Son of the late Vassie O. Barnhart and the living Joan Leora McCabe Barnhart.

Predeceased by his father; one late son, Erik L. Barnhart; one late brother, Richard Lee Barnhart; and one late sister-in-law, Margaret Barnhart.

Survived by his mother, Joan Barnhart of Hagerstown, MD; his wife of 40 years, Cindi R. Barnhart; three brothers, David John (Lisa) Barnhart of Bunker Hill, WV, Garry Douglas (Sherry) Barnhart of Hagerstown, MD, and Eugene Albert Barnhart of Chambersburg, PA; and one sister, Deborah Ann (Doug) O'Neal of Smithsburg, MD.

Gathering: Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 2-3PM with Remembrances at 3PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment: Private.
