Paul Stewart Burnett, 32, of Mechanicsville died suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, February 5, 2012. He was born August 15, 1979 in Escabana, Michigan and moved to St. Mary's county in 1987.
Paul was a rigger with the Crain Service Company in Upper Marlboro, MD. He graduated from Chopticon High School in 1997 where he played football as a tight end, number 48. He enjoyed his family and friends, bowling, fishing, cooking out, horseshoes, fixing cars, nascar and his truck. Mostly he will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father. He is survived by his wife; Catherine Hood Burnett; children, James Daniel Burnett, Kaylee Alyssa Burnett, and Lauren Paige Burnett; mother, Beverly Patricia Loveless Burnett (Richard Hammett); sister, Crystal Ann Burnett: brother Thomas James Burnett; brothers in laws, Christopher G. Hood and Charles Hood, IV; Mother & Father In-law, Charles and Susan Hood; nephews and nieces are T.J., Jewel and Timmy Burnett and Erin and Kathryn Hood; and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents James and Dorothy Loveless. Paul's Life Celebration will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 2897 Old Village Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Interment will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery, 38888 Dr. Johnson Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Pallbearers will be Tommy Burnett, Charles Hood IV, Chris Hood, James Loveless, David Honeycutt, Tim Hazel, Randy Sansbury, and Nick Sansbury.
