James "Warren" Goode, 86, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away at his home on January 4, 2012. He was born on July 22, 1925 in Maddox, Maryland.
Warren Goode was the son of the late Douglas F. Goode and Dora Lyon Goode. Before Warren retired to St. Mary's County, he was a carpenter at Button & Goode Construction in Silver Spring, Maryland. Warren enjoyed hunting & fishing, and helping on the family farm at Pond Point Farm in Maddox, Maryland. He stayed busy on projects, which included helping build his son's houses, working on his truck, and doing yard work. Warren was very devoted to his work and his family. Aside from his parents, Warren is predeceased by 2 of his sisters, Laura Kiel and Grace Thomfordt. Warren is survived by his loving wife, Doris Redmond Goode; his 2 sons, Donald Warren Goode of Charlotte Hall, MD and Ronald Wayne Goode of Upper Marlboro, MD; his siblings, Louis Douglas Goode of Annapolis, MD, Eloise Williams of Hattiesburg, MS, Malcolm Goode, Sr., of Maddox, MD, and Jean Stahl of Lancaster, PA; 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and from 6:00PM to 8:00PM (Prayers at 6:30PM with Rev. Christopher Wilkens) at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church, King & Queen Parish, 37497 Zach Fowler Road, Chaptico, MD 20621. Interment will follow at the Christ Episcopal Cemetery. The Pallbearers are Malcolm Goode, Jr., Patrick Goode, Matthew Goode, Robert Stahl II, Robert Stahl III, and Richie Frank.
