Sumoiwu Garyarwoi Yekeh of Waldorf, MD died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at San Diego Medical Center in California. He was 49 years old. Son of the late James Balloma Yekeh and Bendu Fumbah Yekeh.

Mr. Yekeh started his early education in Zorzor City, Lofa County with the Firestone School System, graduated with honors from Gbalatuah High School, Bong County and earned his BSC Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liberia. Mr. Yekeh worked at the Ministry of Public Works and Liberian Telecommunication Corporation where he sought advanced training in 1999 in the United States. He relocated to the US in 2000, where he found employment with the Washington Metro Transit Authority where he worked for 10 years until his death.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by wife of 10 years, Mary Youngor Yekeh of Waldorf, MD; two sons, Melvin Yekeh of Santa Barbara, CA and Sumoiwu G. Yekeh, Jr. Of Waldorf, MD; three daughters, Garmai Yekeh of Columbia, MD, Henrietta Yekeh and Clarice Yekeh both of Waldorf, MD; three grandchildren, Melvin Yekeh, Jr., Malan Yekeh and Malay Apron; also survived by many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Visitation: Friday, January 6, 2011 at Calvary Gospel Church, 11150 Berry Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603, from 7PM to Midnight. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 7, 2011 at 11AM at Calvary Gospel Church. Clergy: Pastor Dr. Timothy Wood. Interment: Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
