Earl B. Diggs Sr., departed this life on April 11, 2007, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata Maryland . Deacon Diggs was born on November 8, 1919 in Marbury, Maryland. He was the son of the late Preston and the late Susie Diggs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Deaconess Cecelia A. Diggs. Deacon Diggs grew up in Marbury, Maryland and attended the Charles County Public Schools. He accepted Christ as a young adult and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Marbury, Maryland.

He later joined the Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Nanjemoy, Maryland where he served as Vice-Chairman of the Deacon Board a member of the Trustee Board, Helping Hand Ministry, the Prayer Band and President of the Senior Usher Board. Earl began working at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head Maryland in November 1940. During World War II, he entered into the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, he worked for the Federal Works Agency in Washington D.C., he returned to Indian Head Maryland in 1950 as a Pipe fitter where he retired in June 1974, he then went back to work in April 1975 at the Charles County Courthouse in LaPlata Maryland and worked until 1990 where he retired.

Deacon Diggs enjoyed working in the yard, going to eat at the Country Buffet and shopping at the Dollar Store, in the spring and summer Deacon Diggs would make a daily trip to Smallwood State Park just to see the boats and people fishing.

Deacon Earl B. Diggs Sr. leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Earl B. Jr., Tyrone, Preston and Arthur Diggs, two daughters, Marguerite Thomas, Marita Diggs, nine grandchildren, Jayketa, Trynika, Sharonda, Tina, Larry, Clifton, Tawana, Earl B. III,
and Ashley, eight great-grandchildren, two daughters in laws, Ramona and Linda Diggs, two brothers in laws, Harry and Lloyd Brown, three sisters in laws, Elenore, Elsie and Irene Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Viewing Monday, April 16, 2007 9 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church 8705 Gilroy Rd. Nanjemoy, Maryland. Interment church cemetery.
