Cheryl Renee Young, affectionately known As NaNa, of Loveville, Maryland peacefully went home to be with the lord on Monday December 12, 2011 at the age of 45, after long and courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Born to Joseph Wallace Young Jr. and Viola Cecelia Young (Dickens) on May 9, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Cheryl was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Morganza, MD. She received her education in the St. Mary's County Public School System. During Cheryl's high school years she was a champion in Shot-Put. Cheryl was employed by Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy as a Secretary, prior to her employment at the academy, she was employed at St. Mary's Ryken High School as a Secretary. Cheryl was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, she enjoyed playing softball, slot machines, going to the race-track and eating jawbreakers. Most importantly Cheryl loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by and leaves to cherish her precious memories her parents, Joseph W. Young Jr. and Viola C. Young; children Camisha R. Person and Cadejah R. Person; brothers Joseph X. Young (Dawn) and A. Darnell Young(Lauren), a special companion of 15 years David "T-Bone" Kane, a God Daughter Kimberly "Diana" Huffnagle(Joey). Nieces and Nephews: (Children of Joe-Joe) Diana, Joseph, Ajani, Raveen, Shonell, and the late Trevase. (Children of Darnell) Marketta, Cameron, Lakita, Lenyk, Kevin, Jaqoun. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Pallbearers are Joseph "Joey" Huffnagle, Maurice Stewart, Darryl Somerville, Kurt Miller, Joseph (BB) Somerville, Anthony Frederick. Honorary Pallbearers are Jarvius Somerville, Jermaine Somerville, William "Pat" Herbert, Ivan Thomas. Family will receive friends on Tuesday December 20, 2011 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza, MD 20660. Interment Queen of Peace Cemetery.
