Susan Lynne (Palmer) Keith, 51, of La Plata, MD, went home to rest on November 15, 2011 at Georgetown Hospital, Washington, D.C. Susan was born on August 28, 1960 in Lexington, NC.

Susan was the first of twin daughters born to Norma Potts Palmer and the late Donald Lynn Palmer.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Susan was defined by her love for the North Carolina Tarheels. She was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team and was an enthusiastic supporter of the La Plata High School wrestling team. In addition, she was a woman of faith, serving as an active leader and dedicated member of Hughesville Baptist Church. She touched numerous lives as a career educator in the roles of teacher and instructional specialist at Benjamin Stoddert, Mattawoman, and Milton Somers middle schools.

In addition to her mother, Susan is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Raymond Keith, her son, Mitchell Aaron Keith, her daughter, Marissa Lynne Keith and step-daughter Colleen E. Faria, her sister, Barbara P. Hege, her 2 brothers, Daniel Palmer & wife Ava and Donald Palmer, Jr. & wife Christy, her father-in-law, Raymond H. Keith and mother-in-law, Marlene S. Keith, her former in-laws, Harvey and Grace Nolan and a host of many other family members and friends.

As a special tribute to Susan, the family would be pleased to see as much Carolina Blue as possible at the funeral.

The family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hughesville Baptist Church, 8505 Old Leonardtown Road, Hughesville, MD 20637. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Hughesville Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Wesleyan Memorial Gardens Cemetery at the New Life Church in La Plata, MD.
