Glydon Burnette (Marshall) Estep, the daughter of the late James Gardie and Nora Viola Butler-Marshall was born on August 9, 1923 and promoted to glory on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland.

She was united in Holy Matrimony for 27 years to the late George Samuel Estep Sr., to this union 11 kids were born.

Glydon was preceded in death by three of her daughters; Ann Marie, Linda and Sharon and grandchildren Rydell, Aaron and Corey.

She was the beloved mother of Elaine Brawner (Lewis), Ellen Hawkins, Marilyn Makle (William), George Estep Sr., Edwin Estep (Diane), Francis Estep, Earl Estep (Edna) and Sheila Estep-Andrews (Byron)and she provided care for Patricia (Pat) Warren as she was her own. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as special nieces Edith Henry and Fern Brown and a host of relatives and friends.

Glydon "Net" received her education through Charles County Public School system. Her first job was a caregiver and she also served as head cook in various restaurants in Charles County.

"Net" got pleasure from watching western movies, soap operas, going to the grocery store and her doctor appointments. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, grandmother and strong supporter for her family. She was always concerned about the welfare of others and willing to share her infinite wisdom and advice with all who loved her. Her contagious spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone forever-truly a phenomenal woman.

Her Viewing will be held from 9:00am until time of Service, 11:00am on Monday, October 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment, Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland.
