Sonny Buckler 67, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on October 3, 2011 at his home. Born on April 2, 1944 in Charles County. He was the son James Howard Buckler, deceased and Eleanor Buckler.

Sonny was a devoted husband to Kay Carol Buckler for 47 years until her death on August 2, 2011.

He worked for Gudelsky Materials as an Equipment Operator for 14 years. He was a truck driver prior to that for most of his life. He really enjoyed operating his bull dozer. He had many hobbies which included fishing, golfing, and horse shoes. He loved building his ford cars, especially his 1956 Ford, which he restored from the ground up. But above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Ronald, "Glenn" Buckler (Sharon) of Issue, MD, Kevin Paul Buckler (Mary Alice) of Loveville, MD, Terry Leroy Buckler of Mechanicsville, MD, Darren Howard Buckler (Wendy) of Mechanicsville, MD. Grandchildren, Andrienne Buckler, Allison Buckler, Andrew Brown, Kevin Buckler, Jr., Daniel Buckler, Madison Buckler, Sean White, Lee Bowles, Justin Buckler, Andrew Buckler, Darlene Buckler, Melissa Buckler, Ray Copsey, Jr. and Greg Copsey; 4 great-grandchildren, Emilie White, Faith Elizabeth Copsey, Macey Bowles and Cameron Bowles.

A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD., where Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at the All Faith Church Cemetery 38885 New Market-Turner Rd. Charlotte Hall, MD. Pallbearers will be Billy Demarr, Kevin Buckler, Jr.; David Raley, Kenny Alvey, Hank Buckler and Timmy Buckler.
