As the sun rose on September 29, 2011 at 8:17am, June Patricia Brown happily, peacefully, and graciously was escorted by her white horse and chariot to carry her into eternal rest and life everlasting.

"June Girl" or "June Boo" as she was affectionately known by everyone was born in Washington, DC. June was a lifelong resident of La Plata, MD. June was born May 20, 1958 to the late Ethel Brown Whalen and the late James Farmer.

She was educated in the Charles County Public School System and attended La Plata High School, in La Plata, MD. June retired from Prince Georges County Board of Education on March 01, 2011 after 20 years of dedicated service. For numerous years, June worked two part time jobs in addition to her full time job.

June was a very strong and very independent woman. Those who knew June would tell you that she was never the one to bite her tongue. She was very opinionated, out spoken, caring, kind hearted and most of all very loving. She had so much love in her heart and it was demonstrated in how she treated everyone especially children; which is why she was loved by all. June had a very special relationship with her only daughter Shannan. June and Shannan had an undying love for each other. The bond between the two was unbreakable. June would tell everyone who would listen about her precious daughter and often refer to her as her lifesaver. Shannan was very overprotective and dedicated to her mother. There is only one word to describe June and Shannan "inseparable".

Family was important and spending time with her two sons was just as important because they gave her a great sense of peace and safety. Her eldest son, Timothy whom she loved and felt was her biggest protector, provided that sense of safety and love. Chris, the youngest whom she was very protective over had a special love for his mother. On Holidays, you would often find her spending time with other loved ones at home or at the home of her beloved daughter. To adequately, describe June it would take a narrative but to sum her up, she was a "Sassy" woman with such elegance, grace and style.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one of the tremendous loves of her of life, her grandson, Dionnte "Dion "Swinson, and loving cousins, Ricky and Leon Terrell Gray, uncle, Joseph "Dump" Brown, aunt, Mary Thomas, sister, Shirley Simms and a host of many other aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
