Cloyd Gene Blankley of Lusby, MD, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011, in Clearwater, FL. He was 78 years old. Mr. Blankley was born in Everett, PA on March 16, 1933.

He graduated from Lackey High School in 1952 and served in the Army. He worked 37 years for the Federal Government, at the Naval Base in Indian Head, Maryland. He most enjoyed boating with friends and family. His other interests were fishing, crabbing and real estate. He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and he loved listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marlene Blankley; sons and daughters Deborah Hile, Charles H. Hile III and wife Sonia, Gene Kevin Hile and wife Sharon, and Karen Holt and husband William; and brother Gary Hammack. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Blankley was preceded in death by his mother Loretta Hammack and father Wilfred (Benny) Hammack.

Gathering for Mr. Blankley will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, from 2:30PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Interment will be private.
