William Alex Swann, Jr. of Pomfret, Maryland.

At the age of 69, William Alex Swann, Jr. departed this life on August 12, 2011 at Genesis Health Care La Plata Center Nursing Home in La Plata, MD.

William was the youngest of nine children born to the late William Alex Sr. and Sarah (Sally) Ann Swann.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Swann and Myrtle Swann and two brothers, Joseph Leroy Swann, Sr. and John Richard Swann, Sr.

William is survived by his ex-wife, Marie Swann, two sisters, Mary Viola Thompson and Elizabeth Bernice Swann and two brothers, John Theodore Swann, Sr. and Joseph Lindbergh Swann, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Pearl Swann and Dorothy Swann. William also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation, 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 Saint Josephs Way, Pomfret, MD 20675. Interment, Church Cemetery.
