Lowell Franklin Stump, Jr., 57, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Nanjemoy, MD died August 6, 2011 at his residence. Born March 4, 1954 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Lowell Franklin Stump, Sr. and Lorraine Edith Violett.

He was a maintenance mechanic for the St. Mary's County Government. Lowell loved fishing and hunting and socializing with friends. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family at the beach, traveling, oldies music, and dancing.

Lowell was predeceased by his father, Lowell Stump, Sr. and grandson, Bryan Stump.

He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Edith Stump; wife, Linda Kay Stump; children, Laura Thompson Jones (Gerald) and Melissa Kay Sampson (Justin); grandchildren, Brittany Gilroy, Brandon Stump, Nathan, Eric and Faith Sampson; brother, Joseph Stump (Chris) and his in-laws, Reba Clark and Raymond George. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for Lowell's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Stump, Brandon Stump, Ronnie Denham, Jack Denham, Gerald Jones, Justin Sampson and Jr. Brown.
