Albert J. Williams was born on December 1, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Albert J. and Ida Mae Druiett-Williams. Albert was preceded in death by five of his siblings, Ruthie, Connie, Cecil, Benjamin and Madeline.

He received his formal education in the Philadelphia Public Schools and was a graduate of Overbrook High School, Class of June, 1936. He was an accomplished gymnast and competed in gymnastic events in the Philadelphia area.

He married the former Sara B. Hill on February 24, 1942. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Barbara A. Hayman and Rev. Dr. Diana L. Parker. Although the marriage ended in divorce, they remained friends.

He was a Shipfitter at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He retired from the Philadelphia International Airport as an Airport Superintendent I on July 25, 1980. This gave him time to pursue his hobby of building and flying model airplanes. He was gifted with the ability to build and repair almost everything, and completed many home improvement projects for family and friends.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the early 80's. He moved to Waldorf, MD to be closer to his family and was excited about his new church family, Grace United Methodist Church.

Albert was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. On March 5, 2007, Albert peacefully went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness.

He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Marion; two brothers, Roger and Sterling two children, Barbara A. Hayman and Rev. Dr. Diana L. Parker; one son-in-law, Rev. Conrad D. Parker; four grandchildren, Tiffany D. Adams, Richard A. Hayman II, Ronald A. Hayman and Lea L. Hayman; two great grandchildren, Michael Adams, Jr. and Langley L. Hayman; one niece, Joyce Plummer; a devoted friend, Alma J. Adams, and a host of other relatives and friends.

His viewing will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2007, 9:00a.m. until time of service, 11:00a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 11700 Old Fort Road, Fort Washington, MD. Interment, Monday, March 12th, 12:30p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church building fund.
