Mr. Pope was a Banker for 35 years with First National Bank in Alexandria, VA. He loved both golfing and teaching golf. He also had a passion for building computers and computer technology. He was a Member and Administrator of the Moose Lodge in White Plains, MD, a member of the Elks Lodge in Waldorf, MD and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Most importantly, he was a great father and grandfather and most enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was son of the late Archie Allen Pope and the late Etta Angela Gotski Pope. He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Ruth Ann Lutz. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christine Bunt Pope; three sons, Talmadge Daniel of Waldorf, MD, Roland Daniel of AL, and Robert Pizza of Waldorf, MD; one daughter, Deane (Darren) McCauley of Mechanicsville, MD; one brother, Robert Pope; one sister, Carol O'Neill; and four grandchildren, Stephen Hardos, Bradly Hardos, John Peterson and Bobby Pizza. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 10am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602. Father Alain Colliou will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers will be Stephen and Bradley Hardos, John Peterson, Sean and Bobby Pizza and Jeff Coffren. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service. |
